This past week The Mandt System faculty and leadership met together in Chicago to review the updates to the curriculum that we will be rolling out in January. Whenever we get together like this, it truly does feel like a family reunion but without as much drama. Since we all live in different locations around the country, it’s a great time to reconnect as we work together to improve our curriculum so we can support organizations with effective tools to provide safety and decrease workplace conflict.
One part of the material that we spent a lot of time discussing was our chapter on positive behavior support. We have put a lot of effort into improving this chapter to give staff the information they need to better understand behavior and implement behavior plans. By better understanding why people use certain behaviors, we hope to help staff to be able to avoid unnecessary power struggles which are often the causes of conflict in the workplace.
In addition to the updates to our non-physical chapters, we have made changes to our physical skills chapters to help give staff improved and additional tools to keep themselves and others safe and to make teaching the material more streamlined for instructors.
Personally, I’m excited to have the opportunity to start teaching the new curriculum to instructors in the coming year. We have all put a lot of effort into improving the material to meet the needs of our customers and look forward to hearing what you think.
